Rising star games have announced that in continuation to their partnership with CAVE, Akai Katana Shin will be arriving in Europe in 2012.
Akai Katana Shin was originally in arcades but has been remastered in HD for the Xbox 360. It is set to be released in Europe in the first half of 2012. Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games said:
“There is always something special about a CAVE game, and Akai Katana Shin is no exception. It’s
an exceptional shooter, which looks stunning in HD, and we’re delighted to be able to give it the full Rising Star Games treatment when we release it next year.”
The game takes place in a fictional era which resembles the industrial expansion years in Japan. The people discover a new energy source, a mineral named Guiding Ore. The Guiding Ore held mysterious qualities and could also be tempered into a blade named a ‘Guiding Katana’.
Once this blade killed another human being, it would turn blood-red and enable the owner overwhelming power. It was this power that Emperor Basho used it to war with the countries neigbours with his Elite Battalion. It is up to the gamers to defeat his empire and fearsome generals.
