Thanks to a so-called promotional image sent to Kotaku by a Best Buy employee, it seems like the setting for Assassin’s Creed III might well be the American Revolution.
Feudal Japan and ancient China are the other two settings that have been rumoured for a while now, but Ubisoft seem to have chosen the American Revolution.
The leak of this promotional image comes days before Ubisoft are set to make a “major announcement” in relation to the Assassin’s Creed series.
If the image you see below is indeed correct, then we can’t wait to see what Ubisoft do with the American Revolution setting. To be honest, we would’ve preferred Japan or China, but the American Revolution could work if it’s created with proper care and attention.

UPDATE – Ubisoft has released official Assassin’s Creed III box art images, and stated more details will be reveal on March 5th (5pm GMT).
