thechineseroom have confirmed that they are working on a sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent which will be titled Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
Frictional Games will again be producing the game. No specific release date has yet been set, although the developers goal is to get it out on PC before Halloween.
In a conversation with Joystiq, thechineseroom’s Dan Pinchbeck explained that the game is not a direct sequel as it doesn’t follow on from the same story or feature the same characters. The game will follow Oswald Mandus who is a wealthy industrialist who returns from Mexico following a failed expedition. Mandus is haunted in his dreams by a dark machine and wakes up months later to find the machine splutter to life.
