EA have announced the released date for Battlefield 3‘s first DLC, Back To Karkand.
The DLC will be released firstly for the PlayStation 3 on December 6th and then on December 13th for the Xbox 360. For those who pre-ordered Battlefield 3: Limited Edition will get this latest DLC at no extra charge. For those who didn’t, it will be available for £11.99/1200 MS Points.
Back to Karkand is a huge expansion for Battlefield 3 which includes the following:
- Four legendary Battlefield maps using the Frostbite 2 engine. These maps are Wake Island, Sharqi Peninsula, Gulf of Oman, and Strike at Karkand. To take the level of destruction to the next level, huge portions of each map can be razed to the ground.
- Three new vehicles – the VSTOL fighter jet, Desert Buggy, and an APC.
- Ten new weapons
- All new Assignments. This includes an Assignment system where gamers must complete certain objectives to complete the Assignment. For example, a number of kills with a certain weapon must be accomplished. Once done, this will unlock a new Back to Karkand weapon which is available to use on all Back to Karkand and Battlefield 3 maps. It will also unlock the next assignment in the series which is the Creeping Death Assignment.
