EA have announced that the expansion pack, Battlefield 3: Close Quarters is now available on the PlayStation 3.
It will be released on the Xbox 360 and PC next week. The expansion features enhanced destruction, letting players riddle the environment with bullets to reduce entire locales to rubble. Everything from furniture to plaster can be shot to pieces, and players can see the result of the mayhem as rubble and debris pile up on the floor around them. The key features of the expansion is as follows.

- 10 new weapons to use on all Battlefield 3 maps including:
- AUG Assault Rifle
- SCAR Assault Rifle
- ACW-R Carbine
- MTAR-21 Carbine
- M417 Sniper Rifle
- JNG-90 Sniper Rifle
- L86LSW Machine Gun
- LSAT Machine Gun
- M5K Tactical Machine Pistol
- SPAS-12 Shotgun
