2K Games have announced that BioShock Infinite will be released in North American on October 16th and in the UK on October 19th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
BioShock Infinite which is being developed by Irrational games, collected more than 75 editorial awards at last years E3 event including the Game Critics Awards’ Best of Show. It is one of the most anticipated games of 2012 and is sure to be a huge success. The franchise is one of the interactive entertainment industry’s most successful series and has sold over 9 million units worldwide.
The game sees players take on the role of Booker DeWitt. Booker is a hard-bitten former Pinkerton agent who is together with the revolutionary AI companion named Elizabeth. Both are struggling to escape the sky-city of Columbia, in a 1912 American that could have been. Booker is armed with a new arsenal of brand new weapons and abilities, they must face deadly enemies in unique expansive environments. The classic BioShock gameplay can be seen and is joined by innovations such as ariel combat o high-speed Sky-Lines which tells an immersive story in true Irrational Games style.

“After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition, BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”
