If you missed out on Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii, you’ll be happy to know that Capcom will be releasing both titles as digital download for the PlayStation 3.
The bundle will be titled Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection, and will be hitting the PlayStation 3 across Europe and North America in June 2012 via the PlayStation Store. If you don’t fancy picking up the bundle, you’ll be able to download each title individually at a later date.
As you’d expect, both titles will feature remastered HD visuals and PlayStation Move support, the latter complimenting the light gun style gameplay. If you’re not a fan of the Move, don’t worry, as you’ll also be able to play the collection with the standard PlayStation 3 controller. Trophy support will be included too, allowing you to unlock those shiny bronze, silver and gold rewards with or without a friend, as both titles feature co-op play.
If you’re not familiar with the titles in the collection, check out the official description below, as well as some zombie-filled screenshots and a trailer. Also, be sure to let us know if you’ll be picking it up via the comments section.
Revisiting past plots from the series and exposing Umbrella Corporation’s actions, The Umbrella Chronicles features eight playable characters, including Rebecca Chambers, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. As seen previously in the Nintendo Wii version the title also features a brand new chapter in Resident Evil history. The Darkside Chronicles plot takes players back to the story of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield trying to escape the nightmares of Raccoon City, whilst finally revealing the truth behind Leon and Krauser’s feud.
