Crytek have announced that Crysis 3 will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in the US on February 19th and in Europe on February 22nd.
The news was brought from the lovely people over at Joystiq who reported that the release date was announced by Crytek boss Cevat Yerli at an EA preview event.
The game is being powered by CryEngine 3 in which it will advance the state of the art with unparalleled visuals and also dynamic shooter gameplay. The game will see players take on the role of Prophet as he is returning to New York. He then discovers that the city has been encased in a giant Nanodome which has been created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. The game is set in 2047 with Prophet being on a ‘revenge mission’ after uncovering the truth behind Cell’s motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes.
