Dantes Inferno Receives Praise From God Of War Director

by

I am currently playing thru EA’s Dantes Inferno, and you might have heard that this game is similar to the PlayStation Exclusive God Of War series, well “similar” is a huge understatement. Never have i played a game that has blatantly copied everything, from the style to even the buttons, than Dantes Inferno. As i play thru it i keep having moments where i think “Ah C’mon” because something was such a carbon copy of a God Of War feature.

As a huge God Of War fan, this really annoys me, how a game blatantly rips it off. But on the other hand, i am glad that there is a similar game to God Of War and, to be fair, i am really enjoying Dantes Inferno. It has been a blast so far and seems like a good starter before the main course hits in March.

Now if you think gamers, mainly God Of War fans, would be annoyed by this, can you imagine how the Director of God Of War, Stig Asmussen, would feel? He is bound to be outraged you’re thinking, he is probably gonna give Dantes Inferno makers a piece of his mind. But no, its quite the opposite. Surprisingly he is full of praise for EA’s game:

“We’ve been intrigued about Dante’s Inferno. This is my favourite genre, and the more people that are making these games the better,” Asmussen told OPM UK.

“And this is a really rich story they’re building on, it’s very interesting. The day that the demo came out we were trying to download it on PSN at midnight. We all wanted to see it.”

I have to admit, no matter how blatant of a copy it is, Dantes Inferno is a good game and its nice to see similar games being made, and im glad to see Stig Asmussen being complimentary of the game, its a nice touch.

You can read the full interview in the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, which is on sale now.

Im currently playing Dantes Inferno and i will be sure to post a review once i am finished.

Thanks for reading.
