Destiny 2 – Darkest Hour Trailer, Beta Dates, PC Release, PS4 Exclusives

by

In the midst of the info-bomb that is E3, we finally have some solid details to share about the highly anticipated sequel to Bungie’s, Destiny.

One of the biggest surprises being that the game will now officially launch on PS4 and Xbox One September 6th, 2017, as opposed to the previously announced September 8th. Reasons why haven’t been given but it could be an alteration to a weekly reset time table or to align itself to a PC release – I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough!

Destiny 2 Beta Details

Also announced following Sony’s 2017 E3 Conference, as we expected, is the details regarding the Beta. The content will feature the ‘Homecoming’ story mission, the ‘Inverted Spire’ Strike, PvP (most likely the new mode we saw at the reveal event) and all 6 subclasses including the new Titan Sentinal subclass. Bungie also hinted at some secret content to find in the BETA too, so keep an eye out for that! Here’s what we know:

  • Destiny 2 PS4 Pre-order BETA start – July 18th 6pm BST
  • Destiny 2 Xbox One Pre-order BETA Start – July 19th 6pm BST
  • Destiny 2 PS4/Xbox One Open BETA start – July 21st 6pm BST
  • Console BETA End – July 23rd 5am BST

The PC BETA has been slated for some time in late August, due to its later release date.

Destiny 2 PC Release Date

That release date finally has been confirmed: October 24th, 2017. Those wishing to pre-order can do so now on the Blizzard app, which will also give early access to the PC BETA when it drops in late August.

PlayStation 4 Exclusives

During Sony’s Presser, we also got some details on exclusive content coming to their console at Destiny 2’s launch. The content is timed, and will be exclusive to Sony until late 2018 at the very least.
