An insurmountable loot pile
Xur has arrived! This week you’ll find him on Nessus, and he’s carrying the The Prospector (Grenade Launcher), Foetracer (Hunter Helm), An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan Helm), Eye of Another World (Warlock Helm).
I know what you’re thinking; “A grenade launcher? MEH, MEH, MEH”. Well, yes. Grenade Launchers could probably use a little love from Bungie’s buff hammer, however they can be useful in certain situations and this weeks Xur weapon is perhaps one of the prettiest looking things in the game. The AOE damage isn’t spectacular, but if you’re landing direct hits you’ll find some nice damage on this launcher, plus a very respectable magazine size to boot. Of course, if you’re a runny/gunny Titan that likes shoulder charging things and looking like the third member of Daft Punk then the Skullfort is the helm for you. Just don’t go using it against higher level enemies because it becomes pretty much useless – flashy lights not withstanding.
LOOT OF THE WEEK – Foetracer
We’ve seen this multiple times in XUR’s inventory (he obviously has a large stockpile) but if you haven’t got it yet, Foetracer is a great helm to have in your hunter’s stash. It’s tracking abilities are pretty powerful in PvP, allowing you to use that staple Nightstalker perk that marks an enemy behind cover, on other classes too. Then in PvE you’ll get bonus damage to low health marked enemies. Whilst the extra damage isn’t insanely large, every little helps, especially on strike and raid bosses that remain at the low health stage for an extended period of time. Definately one of the stronger Hunter helms available right now, go get it!
