
The demo for Codemasters Racing upcoming game, DiRT Showdown will be launching today and will be available to download via Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Network and Steam on PC.
Players can in the demo play a single player 8 ball race which takes part in the shadow of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Players will use boost in order to sprint ahead of their rivals and speed through crossover points where players can dodge or takedown opponents. Once the race has been completed, they are able to challenge a friend online in order to unlock the Rampage multiplayer mode. Rampage see’s 8 players feed their appetite for destruction in an online destruction derby like and earn points for crashes, smashes and eliminating your rival.
Players who download the demo will also be invited to sign up for RaceNet. RaceNet is a free new online extension for Codemasters Racing games which allow gamers to track their Races, Rivals and Rewards. RaceNet, which is launching in beta, players can register now to be able to join in community challenges and once the full DiRT Showdown game has been released, can track their progress in game and also track challenges with friends. Players who join RaceNet will also awarded with an exclusive RaceNet livery which can be used in the full game and will recieve $20,000 in-game currency for DiRT Showdown.

DiRT Showdown will be released for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 24th across mainland Europe, May 25th in the UK and in North America on May 29th.
