
Codemasters have announced that their upcoming racing game, DiRT Showdown will be released for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 24th across mainland Europe, May 25th in the UK and in North America on May 29th.
The game will also be the first to be launched on the publisher’s new label Codemasters Racing. They have also announced that a playable demo will be available worldwide on May 1st via Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Network and Steam on PC. The demo will feature a solo and multiplayer event. Once the demo has been launched, Codemasters will invite fans to join the brand new online hub for Codemasters Racing, RaceNet. RaceNet will be launched in Beta form and will be an evolving community platform for future racing games and players will be able to track their Races, Rivals and Rewards. More details regarding RaceNet will come once the game has been released.
A ‘Hoonigan’ edition for the game is available to pre-order exclusively from Game and Gamestation. The special edition, which will feature a unique packaging, it will include an in-game cash boost, an online XP multiplier plus Monster Energy liveries for the Kohler D350, Duke Coupe and Ford Fiesta Gymkhana 3 and Hoonigan liveries for the Holbrook Growler, Logan Vulture and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X JUN which can be redeemed via an one time code.
A gameplay video has also been released titled ‘Ultimate Hoonigan’ which shows the spectacular tricks and stunts players can perform in DiRT Showdown’s Hoonigan game modes. It also features Ken Block’s Ford Fiesta H.F.H.V Gymkhana 5 which features exclusively in DiRT Showdown, going head-to-head with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X JUN.
