Just moments ago at their Summer Showcase event, EA unveiled the first screenshots for their upcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network title Burnout CRASH! The game is currently being developed by the talented folks over at Criterion Games, and is due to be released this coming Autumn.
As you can probably tell by the name, this newest addition the series will focus on the hugely popular and addictive “crash” mode that was strangely omitted from the otherwise awesome, Burnout Paradise.
In addition to that, Burnout CRASH! will be powered by the superb Autolog technology that Citerion Games introduced in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. As the press release states, “players will be able to connect, compete and compare high scores to earn the master of disaster crown, as well as use the all new Autolog Challenges feature to go head to head with their friends”.
However, as interesting as all that is, the top-down gameplay perspective is the feature that is sure to get fans of the series talking!
Richard Franke (Creative Director) stated, “Burnout CRASH! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows. We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”
EA also unveiled that Burnout CRASH! will feature a game mode that is designed exclusively for Kinect.
