European Games Award 2012 Winners Announced

The 22 winners of the biggest public choice award for computer and video games have been announced.

Over 230,000 votes had been submitted and a new record has now been broken in the biggest online voting for games in Europe. Games, developers, publishers, magazines, and platforms from 15 European countries competed for this much sought-after prize. The jury has chosen the 100 best titles out of more than 400 computer- and videogames, which have been developed in the last year in Europe, but left the final choice of the favourites to the games fans. The voting was carried out in over 20 categories.

The biggest winners were The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings as well as the FPS, Battlefield 3. CD Projekt RED secured six awards including Best European Character Design and Best European Game Design. They also won the Best European Game Award. Battlefield 3 stood up to the competitors as the best European action, multiplayer and console game that was also accompanied by the Best European Sound. Wargaming.net from Belarus is the „Best European Publisher of the last year and their announced MMO game World of Warplanes has been chosen Europe’s Most Wanted Online Game
