Selling like hotcakes? A bit of an understatement we think. EA have managed to top the sales records of last year’s FIFA 12 by an impressive 23%, reaching the 12 million mark with the sales of this season’s offering (FIFA 13).
The financial reports up until December 31st 2012 posted by EA suggest stability in an uncertain financial climate and even more impressively as video game sales begin to dip in anticipation of the upcoming next-generation of consoles.
More impressively, FIFA 13 also produced a 98% increase in revenue for in-game transactions. Healthy growth was also recorded for FIFA Online 2, an free-to-play online version available in Korea and FIFA World Class Soccer (Japan), a mobile version aimed at the Japanese market.
