Seven weeks to go…
In a press release sent out earlier today, the FIFA Street launch date has been confirmed, along with some details on the FIFA Street Network. FIFA Street will be available on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 “worldwide” on the 13th of March and if you’ve got a season ticket, you’ll be able to get it slightly earlier, although terms and conditions apply.
Details on the FIFA Street Network are pretty thin, below is the quote from the press release.
“Through the Street Network, players will be able to capture video of their best tricks and share them in-game with friends. In addition, friends will be able to track and compare each other’s progress on Friends Leaderboards, and follow each other’s status in EA SPORTS Football Club. Street football is all about the one-on-one battle, when you pull off a trick to roast your opponent,” said producer Sid Misra. “The Street Network brings that real-world swagger into the game by enabling players to capture video of those moments and share them with everyone in their street network to see, and providing friends with a way to compare each other throughout the game.”
Interesting stuff I’m sure you’ll agree and I guess this kind of content share is what we were expecting originally from EASPORTS Football Club although it didn’t quite materialise in FIFA 12. The FIFA Street Network appears to be the next stage in EASFC’s development and anyone who’s experienced Need For Speed’s Autolog system I’m sure will find it very familiar.
But the best news of course is that FIFA Street now has a firm worldwide release date and it’s all kicking off on the 13th March. Who’s excited?
