First Modern Warfare 3 DLC Hits Xbox 360 In January

Infinity Ward has revealed that the first Modern Warfare 3 DLC will launch on January 24, 2012.

Continuing on from their exclusive release dates from previous Call of Duty games, Call of Duty Elite members playing over Xbox Live will be the first players to experience the new DLC.

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has revealed they plan to release much more of a variety this time around. Instead of the usual Map Packs we’ve come to expect, he’s admitted we’ll be seeing Spec Ops DLC this year too.

“The way we’re doing downloadable content this year is unlike we’ve never done before,” he said. “Not only in how you can get it – in content drops or choose for the collection – but also the type of content you’re getting. We’re doing more than just maps. We’re going to do Spec Ops missions and a variety of things that players have never seen before.

“That’s the great thing about having three developers that are contributing to the season of content. You have Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven all pitching in. The full season of content for Modern Warfare 3 kicks off for Elite subscribers on January 24 on Xbox Live.”

No price was revealed unfortunately but we fully expect it to be around about the same price as previous DLC. So look for the price to be around about 1200 Microsoft Points.
