Konami has today leaped forward to announce the return of everyone’s favourite green amphibian, Frogger. The game, titled Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition, will be released on the PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade and WiiWare sometime in Spring 2012.
The classic coin-op’s mix of kill and timing is returning in its most challenging form yet. Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition comes with updated core mechanics and also adds a wealth of new content and ideas. With Frogger celebrating 30 years of classic car-dodging, log-jumping and road-traversing, you’ll be able to leap straight into the action with classic and new game modes which include Tile Capture, Battle Royale, Freak Out and more. All this will expand the challenge of Frogger’s signature style of run and dodge gameplay.
Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition will also allow you to customise your experience with a variety of different skins, including the modern neon style of Hyper Arcade and the 8-bit sprites from the original Frogger, classic Castlevania titles and Contra. You will be able to compete against friends or the CPU with up to four-player matches to find out who really is the top frog!
