GAME have announced that they have cancelled this year’s GAMEFest.
GAMEFest had its debut last year in Birmingham and saw the retailer partner up with some of the industry’s top publisher. Gamers got to get their hands on the latest games before release and it was seen as a major success as it had attracted 30,000 people over the three days.
This success meant GAME were soon to announce GAMEFest 2012 before last year’s event had finished. However, speaking via twitter, they stated the following:
“I’m afraid GAMEfest won’t be happening this year but we do have some cool things in the works.”
Those who are worried about the event never returning, GAME didn’t rule out GAMEFest returning in 2013 by stating:
“By the way – this doesn’t mean it won’t happen next year. *wink*”
