Gears Of War 3 Sells More Than 3 Million In First Week


Microsoft and Epic Games have announced that following 22,00 midnight madness launch events, Gears of War 3 has sold more than three million copies worldwide in its first week since release.

This also confirms that Gears Of War 3 as the biggest game of 2011 and catapulting the franchise beyond an astonishing one billion dollars in lifetime sales. The Gears of War franchise joins the elite ranks of only a select few game franchises to get past the one billion dollar mark in lifetime sales.

Microsoft Corporate Vice President said:

“Gears of War’ was the first killer app for Xbox 360, and the series has continued to contribute directly to the overall success of the platform ever since, Gears of War 3 kicked off the biggest Christmas period in Xbox history, setting the standard for the kind of amazing, action-packed experiences gamers should expect on Xbox 360 this year.”

With game modes like Beast and Horde 2.0 along with dedicated servers, it has all driven over three million users to play Gears of War 3 Online since launch. The game has also earned over 50 perfect review scores and has become the highest-rated Xbox 360 exclusive of the year.
