Following yesterday’s release of the first trailer, Rockstar Games has today confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will be set in Los Santos.
If you played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, you’ll know that Los Santos is Rockstar’s version of Los Angeles. As well as having access to the city, players will be able to roam Los Santos’ surrounding hills, countryside and beaches.
According to Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto V will take open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer in a “bold new direction”. The story will focus “on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California”.
We’re not sure if this is Rockstar’s way of telling us that there will be other locations in Grand Theft Auto V, but they have stated that it will be their “largest and most ambitious game” yet created. If that is the case, then surely the game will have to be bigger than San Andreas, which was something of a behemoth.
What do you guys think? Will Los Santos be joined by other locations? Be sure to let us know your thoughts below. Also, keep a look out for our analysis of the first trailer, it should be hitting the website soon.
Rockstar has yet to announce a release date for Grand Theft Auto V.
