When Killzone 2 was released back in February 2009, many people were praising its graphical power and some even thought that the game was pushing the PS3’s cell to the limits. Since then, we have seen other breathtaking titles been released like the fantastic Uncharted 2, God of War III which pushed the PS3 even further in terms of the graphics side of things but it seems that Guerrilla Games know that the PS3 can go a whole lot further yet according to it’s Co-founder, Hermen Hylst. He has been speaking to EDGE about the PS3 and the technical power that is still there to be pushed to the limit.
“We’re satisfied that we demonstrated the potential of the hardware.”
“But we realise that further optimisations are always possible and that we haven’t hit the limit yet.”
Still to this day, a year and a bit on, Killzone 2 looks amazing and without a doubt still in the top 5 best looking next gen titles so far on both the PS3 and 360 so it’s going to be an exciting time when we finally get to see Killzone 3 and how much more they have improved on the graphics as its hard to believe they can but we all know thats exactly what will happen. Its making my mouth water just thinking about it as Killzone 2 really was a stunning looking title.
Rumour has it that Killzone 3 will be released in early 2011 but at the moment nothing has been confirmed by Sony or Guerrilla Games. Fingers crossed something gets announced soon with regards to Killzone 3.
