Capcom have announced that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD will be released on XBLA and PSN on August 22nd.
It will cost 1600 MS Points/£15.99 and comes as a fighting game which is based on the popular Japanese manga series and previously released arcade games. It will feature stunning HD graphics and comes with unique, original gameplay mechanics which are familiar with Capcom titles. Players will also still be able to play the classic arcade style appearance with an option to play in Arcade SD Mode, preserving the high-quality pixel art seen in the original releases.
The story is based around the Joestar family which include hero Jotaro Kujo. Players will unleash powerful super combo’s and perform special attacks with their characters by executing their supernatural powers which are known as Stand’s. They appear just as they did in the manga which comes offering a strategic layer of fighting and unique gameplay. Jotaro’s Stand which is Star Platinum can be used to perform ‘Blazing Fist’ and attack enemies together with Jotaro, causing massive damage to the opponent.
Players can for the first time since the Dreamcast version play against other people online. There will be an online matching system that will be recognised from Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Players can choose their opponents based on various factors including location, skill and connection speed. There will be battle points for characters and player points for individual player strengths which both will increase players skill and push them further up the global leaderboards. It comes with an all new multiplayer lobby system where fighters will be able to compete with up to eight players. It’s a battle of winner stays on as players fight to keep their place in the game or be forced to become a viewer as another replaces them in the battle to be champion. They will also be able to share their best victories with the new video function to save the replays and share online.
