by

2K Sports today confirmed that a very special mode featuring the one and only legendary genius of the court, Michael Jordan will be incorporated into the up and coming basketball sim, NBA 2K11. The mode which is called ‘The Jordan Challenge’ will allow players to compete in 10 different games which Jordan played during his real life career and give gamers the opportunity to re-create his famous moves, plays etc from his Chicago Bulls days. Also players will have to chance to play in the many famous Chicago Bulls teams from the 80’s and 90’s.

VP of marketing for 2K Sports, Jason Argent said the following regarding this brand new feature for NBA 2K11 –

“Fans of the series are going to be thrilled to know that in NBA 2K11 Michael Jordan is much, much more than just a cover athlete.” “We’re excited to start talking about the ways that Michael will be used in the game and there’s still a lot more to come.”

A description for The Jordan Challenge mode is below –

Players can try to pull off the famous players moves from self-described greatest game by torching the Cavaliers by 69 points in March of 1990; attempt to battle back from the flu to lay waste to the Jazz in Game 6 of the 1997 finals; or leave the world wanting more as they relive one of Jordan’s finest performances during his last game as a Chicago Bull on June 14, 1998.

Also released to coincide with the announcement of this new game mode were 2 brand new pics of the main man himself (1 can be found at the top of this page and the other pic below) and also a teaser trailer showing Jordan in all his glory.

NBA 2K11 is set to be released in the UK on October 8th.
