Sony have announced a new music combat game, titled KickBeat which will be available for the PlayStation Vita this Summer.
Developed by Zen Studions, players will be matching beats in order to pull off martial art movies in time with the music. There will be no on-screen prompts to tell you when to do a certain thing as players will be free to create their own sequence of attacks. The soundtrack features licensed tracks from artists such as Pendulum and Marilyn Manson and also features some less known artists such as Shen Yi. Players will be able to import their own music into the game and use the built-in analyser in order to create their own tracks.
Zen Studios chief Zsolt Kigyossy stated the following:
“Kickbeat is a showcase example of passion, risk and creativity, Traditional publishers might shy away from this type of thinking, but we will embrace it. After all, what’s the point of working in video games if you just keep making the same one?”
