To coincide with wet weather we’re having in the UK today, Konami has confirmed the release date for their downloadable title, Puddle.
The puzzler is set to splash onto Xbox LIVE Arcade and the PlayStation Network on January 25th.
Puddle, a title which was initially a student project and won a Student Showcase prize at the Independent Gaming Festival in 2012, tasks you with guiding a number of different liquids through a series of increasingly difficult stages.
You guide the various different types of liquid by simply tilting the environment, balancing each fluid’s unique properties with the environmental factors such as gravity, friction, and course related obstacles. To make the game a little more challenging, you will only be able to see one small section of a stage at a time, so you can expect to encounter plenty of surprises as you progress.
The PlayStation Network version of Puddle will support motion control, which means you will be able to use the Playstation Move or Sixaxis controller.
To accompany the confirmation of the release date, Konami has released new screenshots for Puddle that showcase the variety of different courses you will be tasked with navigating. We haven’t got hands on with the game yet, but going by the screenshots, Puddle looks like an interesting puzzler. The art style, in particular, managed to grab our attention, thanks to its great use of colour.
