No, I’m not losing my mind. A revamped version of L.A. Noire is coming to modern platforms this November alongside a Nintendo Switch and VR version.

L.A. Noire released back in 2011 on last generation consoles and followed the story of Cole Phelps as he investigated an ever-escalating series of crimes based on real-life events. L.A. Noire was a slight departure from the norm when it came to Rockstar games but was well received nonetheless. Now, it’s coming back, in various flavours.

L.A. Noire Switch Edition

L.A. Noire is coming to the Nintendo Switch! The Switch edition includes the original game and additional content but also features some tweaks to the gameplay. Gyroscopic JoyCon mode will allow you to investigate the clues you pick up in the crime scene alongside gesture and touch screen controls for that true detective experience. A new over the shoulder camera is also being introduced, making use of the Switch’s widescreen output and an HD rumble because we all love the rumbles.

L.A. Noire PS4 and Xbox One Edition

The PS4 and Xbox One editions of L.A. Noire featured the base game and all additional content alongside some visual upgrades. Native 1080p resolution for base Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles is promised with ‘stunning 4K’ resolution for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. The game will feature a bunch of technical improvements such as new lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera and hi-res textures and more. This promises to bring greater fidelity and authenticity to the game and I for one can’t wait to see how it looks!

L.A. Noire HTC Vive Edition

Also being released is a brand new L.A. Noire VR experience titled – L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files. The VR edition includes all seven original case files completely rebuilt for VR. This is sold as the ultimate detective experience allowing players to be fully submerged in L.A. Noire’s gritty world.

A cheeky tease from Rockstar with not a lot else to go on other than the header image above. I’m sure we’ll see a trailer for these versions very soon.

L.A. Noire Switch, PS4 and Xbox One will release on November 14th this year.
