The Last of Us Remastered Uses 'Cutscene Quality' Character Models

by

Naughty Dog have today stated that the visual fidelity in The Last of Us Remastered will out perform the original scenes on the PlayStation 3.

That is according to creative director Neil Druckmann who has stated that the Character Models will be even more visually impressive on the PlayStation 4.

Speaking to Edge, Druckmann stated:

We don’t build it with high assets in mind to then port it, but it did give us a leg up, If we hadn’t done that, we might not have made the call to bring it over to PS4. Our cinematics are now running at 1080p and 60fps, and that involved rendering them all from scratch. It’s interesting that now [instead of a technical bottleneck], the bottleneck is ‘Can we fit all this on the disc?

He has also stated that the team are considering taking advantage of the DualShock 4’s triggers and touchpad.
