UPDATE
As you can see from below, we reported yesterday how LittleBigPlanet 2 may have been accidently confirmed thanks to a interview with Dutch PlayStation marketing man Folkert Langeveld. Well when ConnectedConsoles contacted SCEE about the latest news, here is what they said:
“As demonstrated recently at GDC, LittleBigPlanet has been shown as an example of how an existing game could benefit from PlayStation Move Motion Controller support. This is not a confirmation of LittleBigPlanet 2, and we do not have any announcements to make about the LittleBigPlanet franchise.”
Its not exactly a huge surprise if we’re being honest, we were all scratching our heads trying to think of the purpose of a LittleBigPlanet sequel anyway. Oh well.

News is flying around the web about confirmation of the existence of LittleBigPLanet 2 according to an interview with Dutch PlayStation marketing man Folkert Langeveld. Folkert revealed, while being asked about PlayStation Move, that LittleBigPlanet 2 will be compatible with the hardware.
I am a huge admirer of LittleBigPlanet and really should play it more, but from my experience, i really cant see what a sequel can bring to the series that an update cant. Also you have to consider the huge fact that because of continuously new user created content being added daily, LittleBigPlanet is always a fresh and new experience and never gets old or repetitive. Media Molecule, the creators of the game, said on many occasions how they don’t intend on making a sequel, but now that Sony has acquired the company, maybe they have big plans for it and changed Media Molecules mind.
If you are fluent in Dutch, head on over to Tweakers.net to read for yourself. We are still waiting on Sony’s official response to this news. Stay Tuned.
Thanks to Barrym from WENB for the heads-up and as always hop over to the Forums to discuss.
