A few rumours have been flying around recently that the controversial series, Manhunt is coming back with the 3rd instalment being a PS3 exclusive. This recent rumour has cropped up again and an article posted by the guys from gofanboy.com has stated that the game will be announced as a major PS3 exclusive at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles. Also in the article it states that the game will support the PS3’s motion controller the Playstation Move which like the article mentions, it would make sense as Manhunt was released on the Nintendo Wii.
At the moment of course it’s all speculation and we will have to wait and see what comes of this story, if anything at all but you never know. The Manhunt series did come across some big problems in the UK when the sequel to the original title was the 1st video game to get in ban on UK shores for a decade and other countries also banned the title because of its graphic violence. Around 6 months after the ban was issued, it was then overturned and was later released in the UK. Whether or not Rockstar and Take Two would take this risk of the 3rd instalment being banned in a lot of big markets in Europe and of course around the world as well is anyone’s guess as it could end up with low worldwide sales if bans follow. One saving grace for Rockstar though is the fact that the PS3 can play games from any country on any machine so of course, many people would import the title from the likes of the US etc. I loved the original Manhunt on the PS2 but never got a chance to play the 2nd game in the series due to the ban. It will be interesting to see what steps the likes of the UK and Australia take if the game does get a release in the future.
More on this as we have it.
