March NPD Results Revealed

The March 2010 NPD Numbers have been released. For those who do not know, the NPD Group is the leading independent video game research firm, that monitors and tracks video game hardware and software sales in North America. The results of the research for the hardware and software can be found below. It shows the mighty God of War III at the top of the software category pile which was expected and it shows the sales of the PS3 hardware is steady although not even close to what Nintendo are shifting right now –

Nintendo DS – 700,800
Wii – 557,500
Xbox 360 – 338,400
PlayStation 3 – 313,900
PSP – 119,900
PlayStation 2 – 118,300

Software

God of War III – 1.1 Million – PS3
Pokemon SoulSilver – 1.02 Million – Nintendo DS
Final Fantasy XIII – 828,000 – PS3
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – 825,500 – Xbox 360
Pokemon HeartGold – 761,200 – Nintendo DS
Final Fantasy XIII – 493.900 – Xbox 360
New Super Mario Bros – 457,400 – Nintendo Wii
Battlefield: Bad Company 2: 451,200 – PS3
Wii Fit Plus w/Balance Board – 429,600 – Nintendo Wii
