Some good news for Wii U owners and Nintendo is general, Mario Kart 8 will be screeching its way on the Wii U in May!
The announcement was made by Nintendo president Mr Iwata in a recent statement to shareholders. Just so I don’t misquote the lovely man, here’s exactly what he had to say:
“We will announce the specific release dates of each software title and the release of new titles in other opportunities such as Nintendo Direct, but today we would like to announce that a key title for Wii U this year, “Mario Kart 8,” is scheduled to be released globally in May. To create huge momentum, we would like to ensure that the release of titles such as “Mario Kart 8” is not a one-off event.”
It sounds like Mr Iwata and Nintendo will be making a huge deal out of Mario Kart 8’s release date, and that’s makes perfect sense. They’ve copped a lot of stick for not marketing the Wii U and its games properly, so credit to them for listening and learning from their mistakes. Sure, it might be a bit late, but at least they’re trying!
