The PC gamers amongst you will be happy to learn that Rockstar Games has today stated Max Payne 3 on the PC will not just be a simple port of the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 version
For those of you young enough to remember, the Max Payne series was born on the PC, introducing the gaming world to the cinematic action-shooter. With that in mind, the PC version (in development parallell to the home console versions) will be thoroughly optimised to take advantage of the platform.
Rockstar state the PC version is designed to “run beautifully straight out of the box”, and will support Direct X 11 features including Tessellation. The publisher also adds PC gamers will be able to take advantage of a higher frame rate, greater visual fidelity, precise controls, customisable visual/control settings, and optional 3D functionality.
As if that wasn’t enough, Rockstar also say they have made sure that the PC version of Max Payne 3 will run amazingly well through a vast range of hardware configurations. If your PC isn’t a beast, then this news is sure to be music to your ears.
Looks like the short delay (May 29th release) will be well worth it for PC gamers, as Rockstar are developing the PC version with great care and attention. What do you think? Check out the screenshots below and be sure to let us know what you think.
