Great news for PC fans tonight as Konami have brought forward the release date of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
The release has been brought forward to September 1st, the same date as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases. Those who pre-order the game now via Steam will also receive Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes completely free of charge. Steam customers will also receive a collector’s video which reveals behind the scenes footage and a unique documentary, in addition to DLC in the form of a ‘Venom Snake’ emblem and Mother Base Staff. Tomotada Tashiro, President of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. commented:
We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers. Now PC users will be able to explore the vibrant and beautifully-realised locations and set-pieces that elevate METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN beyond all other action titles. We feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we will provide for the Steam version.
One unfortunate thing to report however, is the delay of Metal Gear Online. Unfortunately, that will not be available at launch. It will go live on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 6th, with the PC version coming in January, 2016.
Are you getting the PC version? Happy it is coming out the same time as the other versions? Let us know in the comment section below.
