Microsoft Set To End Microsoft Points

A new report by the Verge have suggested that Microsoft are set to get rid of Microsoft Points.

In replace will be a new real world money system via gift cards. It is said that this news will be announced during this year’s E3 or even sooner at the Xbox Reveal event next Tuesday.

These new gift cards could work like those of Apple iTunes vouchers which people can purchase through retail. People will also be expected to be able to use direct cash transactions via their credit or debit cards.

Speaking on this report, Microsoft stated the following:

“it’s clear its points system is in the early stages of being phased out fully in favour of a local currency one”
