Microsoft: "We Are Aware Of The Colour Issues On Video Playback"

It has been reported recently that since the new Xbox 360 dashboard has gone live, their have been some colour problems and quality playback issues which have been occurring when watching videos online on the Xbox 360’s latest Metro dashboard.

The issue was bought to Microsoft’s attention by dashboard beta testers but the problem wasn’t rectified before the update for the new dashboard went live around the world. The issue occurs because of the way the RGB levels are only limited which brings in washed out colours and blacks that are grey which then sees poor video playback as well added to the mix.

Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Major Nelson has since tweeted about this issue stating the following;

“We’re aware of the colorspace issue w/some Xbox video apps & are working on a fix. No ETA yet but we hope to have an update soon.”

Have you experienced any video playback issues with the colour palette on the new dashboard for yourself? Or have you not come across an issue as of yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
