Capcom CEO Haruhiro Tsujimoto said at the Monster Hunter Freedom 3 press conference earlier this month that his company was aiming to top the four million shipment mark for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite by the end of March. It looks like Capcom achieved that goal.
The company sent out notice today announcing that domestic shipments of the game have topped the four million mark. The figures include sales of the standard version and two budget reissues.
Freedom Unite also became available as a PSN download on March 18. Capcom did not say how many copies have been downloaded.
In its announcement, Capcom made note of some upcoming Monster Hunter products. The series’ first spinoff title, Monster Hunter Diary Sparkling Airu Village, will be released in August, supported by a collaboration with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty. Later this year, Capcom will release Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (Japanese name Monster Hunter Portable 3rd).
This is a great achievement, we will keep you up to date with any Monster Hunter Freedom 3 news, which is due to hit later this year.
