More Gran Turismo 5 Content On The Way


Sony has today announced there is a lot more content on the way for Gran Turismo 5.

A new DLC car pack and more functionality enhancements will be released on 21st December. There will also be a free downloadable seasonal gift for gamers who install the update. The DLC Car pack 2 will add 4 new cars to the GT5 line up. These are a new and improved 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition R35, 2011 MINI COOPER S, 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI R and a 2010 Volkswagen Scirocco R. This will be priced at $3.99 on the PlayStation Store.

Also on the 21st December will come a free ‘Family Upgrade’ This allows users who purchased the DLC Car Pack 1 and Course Pack 1 to make all the content available to all PSN accounts on their PlayStation 3 console. This feature will also be automatic for those who purchase the new Car Pack 2.

If that wasn’t enough then the Functionality Update 2.02 (also on 21st December) will enhance the overall GT5 experience. The ability to chance wheels on standard cars and a ‘copy’ feature will be added to the settings. In GT Auto, gamers will be able to see how the oil chances, aerodynamic parts, engine overhauls and racing modifications will affect performance points and engine power. Free tickets have been added in order for you to be able to wash cars, change oil, overhaul your engine or refresh the car body in GT Auto. 10 free coupons will be given for those who download the 2.02 update.

The free gift will be that gamers are given the Toyota FT86’12 for those who have installed the update. To add to that, if you purchases any of the DLC packs in October, you will receive the GT Racing Kart 125 and an extra 5 new car refresh cards.
