Namco Bandai Announce Dragon Ball Z For Kinect

by

If you’ve ever dreamt about acting like Goku from the comfort of you living room, you’ll be estactic to learn that Namco Bandai has announced Dragon Ball Z For Kinect.

The game will be making its way to the Xbox 360 this coming October, and will allow you to perform over 100 Dragon Ball Z related moves, including the legendary Kamehameha with their your own fists. Just be careful not to hit family members or friends!

Developed by Spike Chunsoft, Dragon Ball Z For Kinect will allow you interact with the much loved universe in a new, controller-free way. Not only will the game feature over 50 playable characters (including one new one), famous attacks, and epic battles the series is known for, but fans will also be treated to new anime footage debuting in US and Europe for the first time. The features don’t end there either, as Dragon Ball Z For Kinect will also support QR code functionality, allowing you to hold up special QR codes to unlock characters and power-ups in the game.

The game will feature two modes, Story and Score Attack, with both allowing you to enter battles in from a first-person viewpoint, a first for the Dragon Ball Z series. Story mode will make use of “dramatic” anime- style camerawork and require you to perform moves from famous scenes, allowing you to experience giant boss battles “like never before”. On the other hand, Score Attack mode will task you with defeating opponents in 1-on-1 battles, with the aim being to get as high a score as possible.

Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing, Namco Bandai Games America stated:

“There’s going to be no better feeling in the world for fans of the Dragon Ball Z series than standing in front of their screens and unleashing their own fists and raging blasts upon enemies with this game. The Kinect sensor has truly enabled the development team to finally realize the dreams of millions of fans of both the classic games and the timeless original anime. This game will truly represent the next generation of interactive entertainment in the Dragon Ball Z Universe”.

Interesting choice of game for Kinect, one that could work well if done right. What do you guys think? Let us know via the comments section below.
