Need for Speed Heat out November 8th

Gameplay to be shown at Gamescom

Need for Speed Heat is the next instalment in the Need for Speed franchise and it’s officially been announced for PC, Xbox One and PS4, releasing on November 8th.

That’s right, the long-awaited Need for Speed game has finally been uncovered and it looks to be getting its influence from previous titles. The trailer, whilst showing very little gameplay, does show that underground racing is returning alongside car customisations. Not only that, but Pro Street style tracking racing also looks to be thrown into the mix. The pre-order text on the official Need for Speed website reads:

Hustle by day and risk it all at night in Need for Speed™ HEAT, a white-knuckle street racer, where the lines of the law fade as the sun starts to set. By day, Palm City hosts the Speedhunter Showdown, a sanctioned competition where you earn Bank to customize and upgrade your high-performance cars. At night, ramp up the intensity in illicit street races that build your reputation, getting you access to bigger races and better parts. But stay ready – cops are waiting and not all of them play fair.

It looks like Heat will be a dynamic open-world racer with cops thrown into the mix during illegal underground races. Hype much?! We don’t have long to wait for actual gameplay either. Need for Speed Heat gameplay will be shown at Gamescom next week!
