New Report Reveals PS4.5 Codenamed 'NEO', More Details Revealed

The folks over at Giant Bomb have today revealed a new report which reveal new details on the ‘PS4.5’.

The full report says that multiple sources have confirmed to them that the PS4.5 is codenamed ‘NEO’ and that from previous reports, will be sold at $399.

It states that all PlayStation 4 games will have two modes built in to them. A ‘Base’ Mode for the original PS4 and a new ‘NEO’ Mode for the new PS4.5. There will be no exclusive modes for games, but expect local multiplayer to be extended on games due to the power of the new hardware, which is reported as follows:

The new PS4.5/PS4K will allow for 4K output, however, the games will not be required to run at 4K resolution. Current games will be upscaled for those who own 4K Televisions. Developers will also have the ability to patch in a ‘NEO’ mode in to their previous games for visual upgrades and better performance.
