Nintendo has confirmed that New Super Mario Bros 2 will be released on the Nintendo 3DS in North America this August.
The title was announced at their Nintendo Direct web broadcast where Nintendo Europe president Satoru Shibata made a few announcements regarding the 3DS’s release schedule and what to expect over the coming months. The game will be released alongside the Japanese release on the Nintendo 3DS this August. New Super Mario Bros 2 a traditional side-scrolling platform title which will feature Mario, Luigi and other favourite characters and Nintendo has also said that the title was developed with players with different skill levels in mind and will have the famous ‘pick up and play’ gameplay that the Mario titles are famous for.
Unfortunately, Nintendo did not announce when New Super Mario Bros 2 would be released in Europe but expect news of that announcement very soon. Nintendo also released screenshots for the game which can be found below.
