New Xbox 360 Update Fixes Colour And Video Playback Issues Goes Live

Microsoft has revealed a new update for the Xbox 360 to fix colour and video playback issues is now live.

As we reported in January, some Xbox 360 owners have been having problems with colour and video playback since the December launch of the Xbox 360’s new dashboard. This occurs because the system only uses a limited amount of RGB levels which then give off a ‘washed out’ look on the colours and makes the black come out more of a grey shade than the deep black that it should be and some gamers have been experiencing this issue, but  good news has come out today with Microsoft announcing that a new update has gone live to fix these issues.

“This update will increase performance and is part of our continued effort to provide the best possible Xbox Live experience,” said Microsoft mouthpiece Major Nelson.

“In this update, we are providing a fix to a colour issue that some were experiencing, and it will be immediately notable in the dashboard. The fix is also being applied by partners to their apps on Xbox Live, which we expect to roll out over the coming months.”
