It’s Friday, or should I say Free-day… Yeah, that was a bad one but we’ve got some cracking news for you ahead of the weekend.
Wham bam Super Bomberman
A new update for Super Bomberman R has just been planted on the Switch. The update fixes a bunch of issues with the game and opens up battle mode at 60 fps. Other additions to the update include the option to adjust the game’s camera in story mode, alongside the option to choose the AI’s level of difficulty. That isn’t all though. Exploding onto the scene is a brand new DLC pack which is completely free. Included are 4 new battle stages; Lagoon, White Cross, Power Zone and Speed zone and two new accessories in the shape of a crown and a bomb. We’ve also had word of some future content which should fuse you to your Switch in the coming weeks – new characters. Fans of Konami’s games, new and old, will recognise these as Vic Viper from Gradius, Belmont from Castlevania and my personal favourite – Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. Check it out!
Lucy in the Skylines with Diamonds
It’s quite apt that the day after “420 day” Cities: Skylines is released on the Xbox One, especially if you try to shoehorn a dodgy pun into the title. Cities: Skylines was a roaring success on PC, which stuck it’s middle finger up to Sim City and said: “we’ve got this”. From today, you can play this on your Xbox One and not only that, you’ll also get the After Dark DLC bundled on the disc, good times! It’ll be interesting to see how the controls port over to a control but as someone who missed playing this on PC, I’m thoroughly looking forward to giving it a go. Lay your eyeballs on release trailer below.

Games with Gold – May 2017
May’s Games with Gold lineup has been announced and fans of Star Wars will be pleased. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (Xbox 360) will be free to download from the 1st of May up until the 15th where it’s substituted for Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Xbox 360) for the remainder of the month. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Director’s Cut will be available to download throughout the month of May, on Xbox One, with Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris available from the 16th of May through to June 15th. A good little collection of games here and having played Lego Star Wars to death I can heartily recommend it. As expected both Xbox 360 games are playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility and there’s a cheeky YouTube video below to check out the games in action.

Oh, and a little game called Call of Duty WWII was just officially announced… Worldwide reveal on 26th April where we’ll hopefully see some gameplay footage. Please be as good as COD2, please!
Well, that’s it for today and we’ve made it through the week! Have a great weekend y’all!
