NGBDD – Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, Resident Evil DLC & Sniper Games

by

Some big news for Marvel and Capcom fans today but also a bit of a sour note if you’re looking forward to the Resident Evil 7 DLC.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

Great news for fighting game fans as Capcom has just announced a bucket load of information for its upcoming crossover title, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. The 2v2 format returns and is spread across both single player and multiplayer game modes which should cater to old and new fans alike. We’re also getting a brand-new cinematic story mode, which promises to be both visually stunning and immersive, and pitches both heroes and villains to save the World from a new threat, Ultron Sigma. Ultron Sigma is the lovechild of Marvel’s Ultron and Campcom’s Sigma, who’s sought to infect all life with a cybernetic virus.

This sounds like a perfect premise for a superhero x fighting game but it wouldn’t be anything without a supreme roster. Well, also announced are 8 new characters; Ultron, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Rocket Raccoon, Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu & Chris Redfield. These all sit alongside the previously announced characters including; Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Captain America, Ryu, Morrigan and Mega Max X. The infinity stones are also going to be introduced as game-changing power-ups that allow the player to unleash elemental attacks such as Time, Power and Space. It’s not all about the new story mode though, single player Arcade, Training and Missions will be part of the package along with the aforementioned multiplayer modes but more info regarding the specifics of these will be released in due course.

It certainly looks like this will be a great entry in the Marvel vs. Capcom series and may even sit in line with the new Avengers film, due to be released later on this year. The game is available to pre-order now in three flavours; standard, deluxe & collectors edition. The deluxe edit contains a code for the 2017 character pass and there are a bunch of pre-order incentives for all versions in the shape of character costumes; Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu for North America but Europe and Australia may differ. You do get a couple of extra costumes if you preorder the deluxe edit too, Gladiator Hulk and Mega Man Command Mission X. The Collector’s Edition, weighing in at $199, will include 4 premium character dioramas of Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Mega Man X and Chun Li. You’ll also get a case containing six infinity stone replicas (of course, because they aren’t real) and a steelbook version of the deluxe edition. Quite a hefty price there but it does seem like you get a lot of bang for your buck.

The game will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One and PC on September 19th.

Resident Evil VII DelayLC

The free Resident Evil VII DLC, Not a Hero, has been temporarily delayed, as announced by the dev team on YouTube. It seems that they need an extra bit of time polishing the DLC to ensure it meets the high standard of the main game. Whilst this might annoy people who are itching to try out the new DLC this can surely only be a good thing. Better to have a delayed polished product than a rushed out piece of crap, surely? At the end of the video, it’s also revealed that they are working on the 2nd piece of DLC alongside this one, probably not the best time to bring that up though. Regardless it’s quite refreshing to see a developer come out and say “Our bad” and ultimately it is free content.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3

Sniper: GW3 is a first-person open-world game where you sneak around and shoot people from a safe distance, pretty straight-forward. It’s not been getting the best reception, sitting pretty at the “Okay” mark, but it looks like a bit of fun. It’s out today on PC, Xbox One and PS4 so let us know if you’ve picked it up and what you think of the game.

Sniper Elite 4 DLC

To rub salt in the wounds, new Sniper Elite 4 DLC has also been released today, great timing that. Deathstorm Part 2: Infiltration is a paid piece of content that unlocks a brand new story mission for the player. There is also a free update being released simultaneously that unlocks a new multiplayer and survival mode map, Urban, and capture the flag game mode is back.
