Nintendo Switch Launches March 3rd

Nintendo’s new console, the Switch, will launch on March 3rd, priced at $299 in the US (UK pricing is yet to be confirmed). The news was announced at their Switch live event this morning!

Also confirmed:

The Switch will be REGION FREE!
Nintendo’s online service will be free initially, but then it will become a paid service
The Switch has a capacitive touch screen
It has a “capture” button – similar to the PS4’s Share button
The JoyCons have the ability to be used similar to Wii controllers – and will come with a “JoyCon Strap”. Advanced motion sensing will “make unique gameplay methods possible”
The first game to use these new gameplay methods is 1-2-Switch – A motion controlled mini game collection that’s designed to be played without looking at the screen. The primary example shown in the trailer was a quick-draw Western game
The second new IP of the day is announced – ARMS is a fighting game that’s themed around having massive springs for Arms.
Splatoon 2 has been announced! (Should’ve been called Spla-two-n)
There’s a new 3D Mario game – called Super Mario Odyssey, and it looks *REALLY* good! Coming this holiday season
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has been announced!
Fire Emblem Warriors has been announced!
Over 80 games are in development for the Switch
Dragon Quest Heroes 1&2 have been announced for the Switch
A new Shin Megami Tensei game is coming to the Switch
Yep, SKYRIM is coming to the Switch!
Suda51 is going to be developing a new game for the Switch – As yet it’s untitled
FIFA is coming to the Switch
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD is coming at launch for the Switch, and it looks spectacular!
