Old Republic Dev Reveals Upcoming PvP Content

by

Star Wars: The Old Republic Principal Lead PvP, operations & flashpoints designer Gabe Amatangelo has revealed a number of work-in-progress updates to SWTOR’s player vs player system on the site’s community blog.

The upcoming content will include Ranked Warzone Matches, PvP Stat Tracking, Open World PvP Loot Drops, more Warzone medals for different objectives, Guard Optimizations, Target Optimizations, improvements to combat play, as well as a seperate bracket for level 50 players and evolutionary changes to the open world PvP zone; Illum.

The introduction of a level 50 bracket has been penned in for some time this month and it certainly cannot come soon enough, level 50 players currently dominate lower level participants as they have access to high level PvP items and a full talent tree to work with.

Amatangelo also revealed that Empire players currently have the edge over their Republic counterparts with a 53% win ratio in the Alderaan Civil War and Voidstar warzones. It comes as no surprise that the same faction warzone; Hutball has been played the most with 39% of all PvP matches taking place in the Hut arena.

Empire players currently outnumber the Republic forces on most servers which is more than likely causing a greater number of Hutball games to take place. Amatangelo assures fans in the article that another same faction warzone is in the works and the option to choose specific warzones will also be available.
