According to the rumour section in the latest issue of the US Official Xbox Magazine, People Can Fly might be tasked with developing a Gears of War prequel trilogy.
The rumor section of the magazine states the following:
“Gears of War will live on, of course, but in what form?” A prequel trilogy developed by Epic-owned People Can Fly (Bulletstorm) is a likely scenario.”
Although it just a rumour at the moment, we think there might be some weight behind it. Gears of War is massive franchise for Microsoft, they would be crazy to put an end to the series with Gears of War 3. The recent revival of the Halo series, with the announcement of a new trilogy at E3, just shows that Microsoft are not likely to put a commercial juggernaut of a series to bed permanently.
