
The PlayStation 4 has had even more success than even most could of imagined with the latest sales figures released by the folks at Sony.
It has been revealed that cumulative sales of the PlayStation 4 reached a very impressive 4.2 million (as of December 28th), once again demonstrating the fantastic growth of the PlayStation 4 in such a short amount of time.
Christmas was a strong time for the PlayStation 4 with over 9.7 million games sold via retail and the PlayStation Store. These included top titles such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, FIFA 14 and Killzone Shadow Fall.
PlayStation Plus subscriptions have increased by a fantastic 90% since the launch of the next-generation console. There have also been more than 1.7 million gameplay streams direct from the PlayStation 4 thanks to Twitch and UStream which counts up as more than 55 million minutes, with 20% of Twitch users coming directly from the PlayStation 4. Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. stated:
